Live with a Purpose worth jumping out of bed for:
Health is not just about food, detox juices, sleep or movement. Ultimate health is gained by having something to look forward to each morning.
Your purpose is a combination of two things. Swadharma (your Innate strength) – Purpose (your reason for being), Service (usefulness to others)
Swadharma:
1. These are the strengths we are born with, things we are naturally good at.
2. We all have different things we are naturally good at – for someone it could be doing business, while for someone, it could be writing blogs.
3. Many of us today don’t live in alignment with our innate strengths. We may realize that we are great at poetry but our family expects us to lead the family business and we somehow start doing business but it leaves us unfulfilled from within.
4. When we don’t work on our innate strength, the following things occur.
->Internal frustration starts building
->Praanshakthi gets wasted in handling the stress
->Health starts deteriorating.
The power of living in accordance with our innate strength is beautifully explained in Bhagavat Gita ”Better is Swadharma, one’s own duty. Though devoid of merit than Paradharma duty of another, well-discharged. Better is death in Swadharma, Paradharma is fraught with fear”
Swadharma means your own duties and strengths. Paradharma means another person’s duties.
Lord Krishna tells us that living in Swadharma is very important, that it is better to fail in your Swadharma than succeed in your Paradharma, as Paradharma is always full of fear.
A second important component of purpose is “Service”
Service simply means performing your duties for a higher cause. You can follow your passion and that may make you money, but if you want to feel a deep sense of satisfaction which will bring you most joy in life then your innate strength should be used to serve another person or entity.
When something serves only us and there is no intention of anyone else benefitting from it except us it is considered as a selfish action. When we perform actions in which we see not only our benefit but also that of our near and dear ones we expand the scope of our service. When we work with an intention of helping our society or our world, that’s when we are performing the highest service.
Our body was given to us by Mother nature and soon we will return back to her. In the time we have, let’s keep it healthy, bustling with energy and vitality.
All big things come from small beginnings. The seed of every habit is a single, tiny decision.
We think health is about doing big things, but health is not about doing big things, it’s about doing smallest things consistently.
For if you eat living food, the same will quicken you, but if you kill your food the dead food will kill you also. For life comes only from life and from death comes always death.
Pay the farmer now or pay the pharma later.
Saving one animal won’t change the world but it will change that one animal’s world.
Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful committed people can change the world. Indeed it’s the only thing that ever has.
A little communication goes a long way. So express yourself especially to your family.
Start seeing obstacles as tests, because that’s what they really are. Obstacles are nothing more than tests designed to measure how seriously you want the rewards you are seeking.
In the morning, God will send you the angel of sunshine to wake you from your sleep. But when the sun is set and your God sends you his most precious angel, sleep, then take your rest and be all night with the angel of sleep.
The hour that 95% waste and the top 5% treasure. Early morning is the time of least distraction, highest human glory and greatest peace.
Movement should be a celebration of what your body is capable of and never a punishment for what you ate.
Nourishing your body with the right food, rest and exercise is a way of expressing gratitude to God for this wonderful gift of a human body.
When you see a genuine seekingness in the other person to learn from you, only then you may share with them what you have learnt, never enforcing yourself upon them, but simply sharing from a space of true love and non attachment to the result of whether or not they will follow your advice.
Holding onto anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else. You are the one who gets burned.
People don’t always need advice. Sometimes all they need is a hand to hold, an ear to listen and a heart to understand them.
The mystery of Ultimate health lies not in just staying alive but in finding something to live for.
If you are able to see God’s hand in every situation of life, you will not be disturbed even in the midst of the greatest calamity. Surrender and fear cannot live in the same heart at the same time.
Life should not only be lived, it should be celebrated. So replace the rigidity, judgment & fear with compassion, acceptance & joy.
People say knowledge is power. But knowledge is not power. Application of knowledge is power. The purpose of knowledge is transformation. Without it, it’s just intellectual stimulation.
